All-New Jeep Compass: Design, Powertrain, and Features Revealed

[Auto Home New Car Official Images] Recently, Jeep officially released the images of the all-new Jeep Compass. The new model continues to feature Jeep s iconic design. It will be built on the STLA Medium platform and offer powertrain options including all-electric, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid systems, with the flagship variant equipped with dual motors delivering up to 375 horsepower. The vehicle is set to begin deliveries to overseas markets in the fourth quarter of this year.

From the exterior, the new car still features Jeep s iconic 7-slot grille, but adopts a closed design as a decorative element. Above it, a row of seven LED light strips is incorporated, while LED headlight clusters are positioned on both sides to enhance the vehicle s futuristic appeal. The lower front fascia includes active air intakes that can close when not needed, further reducing aerodynamic drag.

From the side profile, the new car features a compact and muscular design with a high ground clearance for excellent off-road capability. It adopts blackened A, B, and C pillars along with a darkened roof design, which helps lower the visual center of gravity. The enlarged rear side windows enhance visibility. The rear is equipped with a full-width taillight design with an X motif on both sides, complemented by a rugged rear bumper. Additionally, higher trim levels will come with a black roof, matrix LED headlights, and a sunroof. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 179.1 inches (approximately 4549.14 mm) in length, an increase of 6.1 inches (about 154.94 mm) over the previous model. For wheels, the new car is fitted with dual-tone 20-inch alloy rims.

In terms of the interior, the new car will come standard with a 16-inch ultra-wide touchscreen and a 10-inch fully digital driver s display, while retaining some traditional control buttons below the screens. The cabin features a dual-tone black and gray color scheme, with seats adorned with the Jeep logo and X-shaped stitching. Additionally, the vehicle will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a HUD (head-up display), and other features, while gear shifting is designed with a rotary knob.

In terms of powertrain, the new model will adopt the STLA Medium platform, shared with the Peugeot 3008, offering pure electric/mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The mild hybrid variant is expected to feature a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech gasoline engine paired with a 48V motor, delivering 145 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid version is anticipated to be equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 195 horsepower. For the all-electric model, the front-wheel-drive single-motor variant comes with a 74 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 311 miles (500 km) on a single charge, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version achieves a maximum WLTP-rated range of 404 miles (650 km).

Officials stated that the four-wheel-drive version of the vehicle boasts a maximum ground clearance of 7.9 inches (approximately 200.66 mm), with an approach angle of 20 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees, and breakover angle of 15 degrees. Its maximum wading depth reaches 18.5 inches (around 469.9 mm). The four-wheel-drive model will come standard with a hill descent control system. (Text/Autohome Li Na)
