FAW-Volkswagen Achieves Record Sales in May 2025 with New Cloud-Based Automotive Factory in Foshan

On June 1, FAW-Volkswagen released its sales data for May 2025, achieving total vehicle sales of 128,303 units, with the market share of fuel-powered vehicles increasing by 1.5 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, the Volkswagen brand sold 73,001 units, up 2.8% year-on-year; the Audi brand sold 46,000 units (including imported vehicles); and the Jetta (parameters|inquiry) brand sold 9,302 units, with its fuel-powered vehicle market share rising by 0.2 percentage points year-on-year.

On May 19, FAW-Volkswagen, in collaboration with Huawei Cloud, unveiled the nation s first cloud-based distributed automotive factory at its Foshan branch. This newly inaugurated facility integrates Huawei Cloud s strengths in ICT solutions and smart manufacturing with FAW-Volkswagen s production system. Leveraging a distributed cloud architecture—combining the headquarters dedicated cloud in Changchun with branch factories CloudPond—it achieves seamless data integration across geographically dispersed plants and the headquarters. This enables centralized management of subsidiaries and factories from Changchun, fostering efficient R&D, production, and supply chain coordination. The initiative not only supports FAW-Volkswagen in building an enterprise image as a new benchmark for high-quality development and high-standard openness but also drives the deepening and solidification of digital transformation in China s automotive industry.

Additionally, the FAW-Audi Q6L e-tron has officially commenced pre-sales. The Audi Q6L e-tron is the first model built on the PPE pure electric platform and has also partnered with Huawei, featuring Huawei s Qiankun intelligent driving system equipped with dual lidar and a visual fusion perception solution.
